A creator's Discord avatar is stored as a hash at the moment they sign in. Change your avatar on Discord and the old hash stops resolving — the URL 404s, and every surface showing that creator rendered a broken-image icon.
The wall now falls back to the creator's initials on a load error, so a stale hash costs a photo rather than the whole card. Signing in again refreshes the hash and the photo comes back.
